Hermie S. Capulong has several years of experience in Project Development, Project Management, Construction Management and 5-Star Hotel Operation & Maintenance. Hermie is currently managing his own business, CAPCON Aluminum Specialist. Prior to this, Hermie has developed several subdivision properties under Filinvest Development Corporation. Hermie then joined The Westin Philippine Plaza Hotel (now Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel). He managed the renovation of the entire 670-room hotel and headed the hotel's engineering operation and maintenance. Hermie's responsibility in the hotel also included the planning and implementation of the over-all yearly capital expenditure and the Fire, Life & Safety standards and implementation. He headed the Procurement, Bids and Awards Committee (PBAC) for all hotel projects. Hermie worked at senior levels with members of the executive committee and the hotel owners.
Hermie worked as a consultant for engineering operation and maintenance during the construction of the Networld Hotel.
Hermie's post-graduate trainings include, The Executive Course in Construction Project Management, Interaction Management Program, Management Development Program, Personal Performance Review, Service Distinctiveness Program, Computer-Aided Design, Time Management, Moments of Truth, Corporate Image, Paint Technology, Values Enhancement, and Preservation and Rehabilitation of Exterior Walls in High-Rise Structures.
A Filipino, Hermie graduated as civil engineer from the Mapua Institute of Technology in Intramuros, Manila. He obtained his professional license in 1982 and earned several post-graduate units in Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
